Augusta Links Scholarship

About Our Scholarship Program

The Augusta, Ga Chapter of The Links, Incorporated’s Scholarship program is a general academic award aimed to provide assistance to a deserving student. Awardees may be pursuing any academic major they desire. The Scholarship Committee is looking for wellrounded students who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, leadership skills, and involvement in a variety of school and community service activities.

 

Purpose

The Augusta, Ga Chapter of the Links, Incorporated awards annual scholarships to female CSRA high school seniors who plan to attend an HBCU in the Links, Incorporated’s Southern Area. (AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC).

 

Scope

The award is $500 for any academic major. She has to be in good standing and possess at least a 3.0 GPA. This is a one-time award.

 

Scholarship Qualifications

The Augusta, Georgia Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has a long history of providing financial assistance to deserving students in the CSRA. To continue that tradition, we will award four- $500.00 scholarships to applicants who meet the following criteria:
• Must be a CSRA female high school senior.
• Must have a 3.00 GPA.
• Must demonstrate leadership qualities.
• Must be active in extracurricular activities.
• Must demonstrate a commitment to The Links, Incorporated core values of friendship and service to the community.

 

Guidance counselors are also welcome to nominate candidates who meet the criteria for the Links Scholarship using our application form. Counselors should inform Angela Martin of the nominee’s name at angela_savoy@yahoo.com.

Ms. Martin will act as the liaison between the school and Augusta, GA Links Chapter. Scholarship recipients will be honored at a brunch, and will also participate in a photo op for local media publicity. The $500.00 scholarship check will be presented to selected students during their school’s awards ceremony.
